America’s 250th birthday is still weeks away. But SK Guns is already marking the occasion with a commemorative pistol designed to celebrate the nation’s quarter-millennium of independence.

The company has announced the release of its new “250 Years of Freedom” 1911 Commander. Chambered in .45 ACP, it’s a limited-edition handgun honoring the United States’ semiquincentennial in 2026.

The SK Guns "250 Years of Freedom" 1911 Commander in .45 ACP is displayed atop an American flag, showcasing its sapphire PVD finish, ivory-colored grips, and patriotic engravings commemorating the United States' 250th anniversary.

Limited to just 250 pistols. The custom Commander blends patriotic themes with premium 1911 features. And detailed engraving work aimed squarely at collectors.

Built on the classic 1911 Commander platform, the pistol features a sapphire PVD satin finish and extensive custom engraving commemorating America’s 250 years of freedom. SK Guns also equipped the pistol with a checkered front strap cut at 20 lines per inch, a Stan Chen rear mainspring housing, and a matching magazine well checkered at 25 lines per inch.

The attention to detail continues with Kirinite REACTIV grips that complement the pistol’s overall checkering pattern while adding a distinctive visual touch.

“As we celebrate this significant milestone, SK Guns is honored to present a firearm that embodies the spirit of American resilience and patriotism,” said Simon Khiabani, founder and owner of SK Guns. “This 1911 Commander is not just a collector’s item but a tribute to the values that have defined our nation for two and a half centuries.”

The timing is fitting.

On July 4, 2026, the United States officially marks 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Across the country, communities are planning celebrations recognizing the nation’s founding and the generations of Americans who have defended and expanded the ideals of liberty, self-government, and individual rights.

SK Guns says the pistol was designed to capture that legacy.

For firearm enthusiasts, the choice of a 1911 platform also feels appropriate. Few handgun designs are more closely tied to American history than John Browning’s iconic .45-caliber pistol. It has served military personnel, law enforcement officers, competitors, and armed citizens for more than a century.

Each “250 Years of Freedom” pistol is individually serialized and numbered as part of the 250-gun production run.

The handgun carries an MSRP of $2,250. And is currently available for pre-order through SK Guns, with shipping expected to begin in July 2026.

For collectors looking to add a uniquely American firearm to the safe during the nation’s landmark anniversary year, this one checks a lot of boxes.

And unlike the fireworks you’ll buy for the Fourth of July, this commemorative piece should still be around long after the celebration ends. Learn more HERE.
