Episode 49 was filmed on March 19, flying Southwest Airlines from New Orleans to Las Vegas. Like most trips in this series, everything went smoothly from check-in to baggage claim.

Check-In at MSY

I walked up to the counter and said my usual line that I was declaring firearms. I was using my standard setup: a Condition 1 locked hard-sided case packed inside a regular piece of luggage.

The agent handed me the declaration form, I filled it out and signed it, then placed it into the Fedex sleeve attached to my case. Once everything was closed up, the process was complete with no delays or extra questions.

As usual, I gave it 15 minutes minutes before heading through security in case TSA needed to inspect the case. No one called me back, so I continued on without any issues.

Arrival in Las Vegas

After landing in Las Vegas, I went to baggage claim. Since the hard-sided case was inside regular luggage, my bag came out on the carousel with the rest of the checked baggage.

I grabbed it, checked to make sure the locks hadn’t been tampered with, and everything looked good. From there, I was on my way.

Final Thoughts

This flight was another example of how consistent the process can be once you know the routine. No complications, no delays, and nothing out of the ordinary—just a smooth trip from start to finish.

When everything is packed correctly and communicated clearly, this is how most flights should go.
