StatsCan deliberately conceals facts that would embarrass the government. Don’t be surprised. Far from being an independent source of non-political statistics, StatsCan knows how to gain the Liberals’ favour. Ignoring ethnic links between victims and accused is an obvious sign. Of course, StatsCan boffins may have been infected by the woke virus too.

StatsCan doesn’t completely ignore ethnicity
Reports about “racialized” victims are abundant, frequently accompanied by handwringing about “systemic racism” or the supposed sins of colonial settlers. Who were their attackers? The ethnicity of attackers is reported separately, also accompanied by complaints about racism.
StatsCan is not shy about reporting family relationships connected with family violence (e.g., the victim’s spouse, current or former), but StatsCan ignores ethnic links between accused and victims.
Secrecy invites suspicion
Why would StatsCan hide these ethnic links? Like the famous observation made by Sherlock Holmes about “the dog that didn’t bark,” the absence of this information betrays something important. One possibility is that reporting the accused’s ethnicity might undermine the claim that crime is due to “racism.”
It would seem intuitively obvious that people are most at risk from assailants who share their ethnicity. Two observations bolster my assertion:
First, most people prefer living in communities abound people they feel comfortable with, and many people, especially recent immigrants, choose to live with others who share their language or culture (e.g., there are Chinese, Black, and Sikh neighborhoods in large cities);
Second, criminals are opportunists. In other words, criminals often tend to rob, rape, or murder whoever are closest to them simply because they are readily available.
These patterns can be seen in American statistics about crime, if not Canada even if StatsCan doesn’t collect or report on them. The National Crime Victimization Survey conducted by the US Bureau of Justice Statistics in 2024 includes questions about how victims and offenders were linked by race.
In 2024, black victims are seven times more likely to have been attacked by a black offender than a white offender, while white victims are three times more likely to be attacked by a white offender (See Table 13). One would expect a similar pattern in Canada even if StatsCan refuses to investigate.
US National Crime Victimization Survey
| Race of Offender | |||
|---|---|---|---|
| White | Black | Total | |
| Race of Victim | |||
| White | 1,706,750 | 536,120 | 3,421,720 |
| Black | 57,370 | 402,960 | 773,420 |
StatsCan ignores ethnic links between murder victims and killers
But the FBI in the US collects and publishes such statistics. John Lott at Crime Prevention Research Center in a recent analysis of 2024 data found that same-race murders are typical for both white and black victims. Is that true in Canada? We don’t know. Probably, but it would upset Liberals if StatsCan published the links.
In Toronto, black families appear to be the primary victims of black Toronto criminals. Almost half of homicide victims in Toronto are black, and black Torontonians are four times more likely to be charged with a crime. Each fact is separately ascribed to “racism and structural inequities.” No links are presented between accused and victims.
Claiming compassion, Canada pushes “special consideration” for “vulnerable” or “racialized” accused. Coupled with “early release” policies for offenders; even those accused of the most violent crimes often are released early. By doing so, courts ignore public safety, and “racialized” victims pay the price of the Liberals’ false compassion.
Some offenders are just predators
They need to be kept away from society, in prisons or mental institutions. Public safety demands closer greater scrutiny of offenders. Regardless of ethnic background.
Ethnic groups are not helpless pawns in the grip of white society
Blaming abstract factors such as “guns” or “racism” for crimes committed by anyone, let alone a “racialized person” denies “agency.” A criminal bears personal responsibility. Society – especially minorities – deserve to be protected from criminals who have chosen badly.
Thanks to the woke virus, Liberals righteously abandon victims to find excuses for offenders. The Liberal claim that criminals aren’t responsible for their evil deeds; they just need “understanding.” Liberals prefer to blame inanimate objects like guns. After victims have been injured or killed, the Liberals later solemnly hold candlelight vigils for their victims, as if to make amends.
Treating offenders compassionately is not compassion for victims
Blaming “racism,” or guns, may be convenient for politicians, but it doesn’t improve public safety.
