The precision vacuum heat treatment process begins with a controlled, high-heat vacuum treatment designed to eliminate internal stress at the molecular level. By stabilizing the steel early in production, the finished barrel resists deformation under extreme heat and pressure. The result is superior dimensional stability and long-term accuracy shot after shot.
Electro chemical rifling is used rather than using traditional cut or button rifling methods that introduce mechanical stress, Benelli employs advanced electro chemical rifling. Through controlled electrolysis, rifling is etched into the bore without physical contact. This preserves exceptional bore straightness while producing highly uniform lands and grooves—delivering smoother bullet travel, enhanced consistency, and repeatable precision in demanding hunting conditions.
As a final refinement, every Lupo barrel undergoes Benelli’s proprietary cryogenic Crio treatment, reducing temperatures to minus 300 degrees Fahrenheit. This process relieves any remaining micro-stress and locks the barrel into its final, stable state. Crio treatment enhances durability, improves finish adhesion, simplifies cleaning, and optimizes bullet ballistics for tighter shot groups.
